IMPHAL, May 3 (Newmai): The pass percentage of Manipur board conducted higher secondary school examination has declined this year. This year’s overall pass percentage is 67.04, which is a decline from the previous year record of 68.81 percent.
The examination result of The Higher Secondary Examination, 2018 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM) was declared on Thursday.
This year, 28,024 candidates enrolled for the Higher Secondary Examination, out of which 27,776 candidates appeared for the examination and 18,621 clearing the examination.
Congratulating the officials of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur Education Minister Th. Radhehsyam said that the examination result is declared in short span of time due to the untiring efforts of the staff. The Higher Secondary Examination, 2018 result was declared at the office of COHSEM.
District wise, the pass percentage of Noney district recorded the highest pass percentage of 96.80 with 333 candidates clearing the exam out of the total 344 candidates appearing. Imphal West had the highest number of candidate appearing the examination totalling to 9606 candidates with 6664 passing the exam.
Out of 7189 enrolled in Arts stream, 7079 appeared the examination and 5048 candidates passed the exam. In Science stream 20328 enrolled, 20193 appeared the exam with 13240 passing the examination. In Commerce stream 507 students got enrolled, 504 appeared the exam and 333 passing the exam.
