Tezpur, May 5: The Gajraj Corps of Indian army conducted skill development training under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) here, where 45 trainees completed training at Army Skill Training Centre (ASTC). The trainees were awarded Skill certificate at a ceremony organised on Saturday as part of “AAJEVIKA AND KAUSHAL VIKAS DIWAS”.
Defence spokesperson Lt. Col. Harsh Wardhan Pande highlighted the efforts of Army in promoting the existing skill set of women through employment by skill development.
Zonal president of AWWA Amanpreet Kaur presented the certificates to successful candidates in the programme.
Erstwhile Vocational Training Centres have been upgraded as part of initiative by Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV) and ministry of skill development & entrepreneurship to empower Army and ex-servicemen’s spouses, war widows to enhance their skills and become an integral part of the nation’s skilled human resource.
