GUWAHATI, May 15: Aizawl FC will take on New Radiant SC of Maldives in their last group league match of the AFC Cup here on Wednesday. The match will kick off at the Indira Gandhi Athletic stadium from 6-45pm.
Aizawl FC are already out of competition. The side, in the four-team group ‘E’, is placed in the bottom of the table with only single point which they collected against Abahani in their last match in Dhaka. On the other hand, New Radiant are now on the top of the table with 12 points. If they earn full points from this match the side will advance into the next round of the competition. However if Aizawl upset New Radiant then it will bring smile to the members of Bengaluru FC as they too are on the verge to move into the next round. Both New Radiant and Bengaluru FC collected 12 points from their five outings but the former are in the top spot because of better goal difference.
On the eve of the match day the coach of Aizawl FC Santosh Kashyap made it clear that his team will go into the ground with an aim to collect full points. “I know that Aizawl FC are already out of the competition but we will try our best to end our campaign with a great note,” said Kashyap.
Meanwhile Coach of New Radiant Oscar Bruzow on Tuesday said that they are in Guwahati to collect full points.
Both the coaches added that there are no injury concern in the teams.
