GUWAHATI, Aug 4: In an effort to support the people of Assam, Fusion Microfinance partnered with Doctors for You and Family Planning Association of India to distribute masks and sanitisers in the flood hit parts of the state.
As part of the initiative, Fusion Microfinance distributed masks, sanitisers, soap and sanitary napkins to 5000 rural people living in Dibrugarh and nine other districts such as Sonitpur, Biswanath Chariali, Tinsukia, Dhemaji, Kamrup, Nagaon, Jorhat and Sivasagar.
Previously, the company also distributed 1.04 lakh masks and 14400 hygiene kits in 3450 villages present in 193 districts across 14 states in East, West, North and South India. More than 2.82 lakh villagers benefitted from this initiative while being educated about infection related information.
These community welfare activities were conducted via 7 NGOs and as a result impacted 213 needy civilians such as disabled people, women, ASHA workers and other various people of tribal communities were given livelihood.
Fusion Microfinance is a registered NBFC-MFI which works in the borrowing model of the Joint Liability Group of the Rural. Fusion Microfinance customers include 100% of women living in rural and semi-urban areas. Its main focus is to provide access of financial services to the financially and socially disadvantaged sections of society who do not have access to the bank and financial services.
