GUWAHATI, Sept 24: Samagra Shiksha in collaboration with Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, organised A Mental Wellness workshop for the students of Government schools in Jorhat and Majuli, under ‘Manodarpan’ – an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development to mobilize Psychosocial Support to help children and adolescents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner.
The event was organised virtually and the session was live-streamed on the Facebook page of Bharti Foundation in Assam. It witnessed participation from lower primary, upper primary and secondary Government school students.
The initiative was panelled by Parash Goswami (DPO – SSA, Jorhat and Majuli), Sumita Shee (Head – Training and Curriculum, Bharti Foundation) and Dimple Adhikari (Mental Health Social Worker and Play Therapist) and moderated by Mukut Kalita (Trainer, Bharti Foundation).
The initiative was focused at mobilizing psychological support to help children and adolescents in a comprehensive and multimodal manner. The attendees were also encouraged to ask their queries, which were attended to by the moderator. The pivotal focus of the event was to provide students a platform where they can directly share their thoughts, feelings, apprehensions with the Panel Members, so as to help them attain mental peace and well being during these difficult times.
