BOKAJAN, March 5: The anti-talk faction of Karbi People’s Liberation Tigers (KPLT) on Monday clarified that the armed organisation is still “alive” and not “dead” as aired by a senior leader of the pro-talk faction of the KPLT.
In a press release sent through WhatsApp, the anti-talk faction rejected the claims made by one Songsar Kathar, self-styled KPLT home secretary (ceasefire) that there is nothing called KPLT (anti talks).
“We are very much alive and others who came overground are joining them as they are harassed by security forces,” the release said.
“Kathar is involved in anti-social activities. The only thing that is preventing us from taking action against him is that he is a fellow tribesman,” the release further said.
It further said they know where Kathar live. “He is involved with the security forces in hunting down KPLT (anti-talks) members. Due to the harassment of Kathar some people have to even leave their homes,” it said. KPLT (anti-talks) strongly warned Kathar saying that those who cannot be in the movement should not work against it.
