DIBRUGARH, Dec 6: Ahead of assembly election, the incidents of cash for job scam have been increasing rapidly. This time, a senior doctor of Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) Ajanta Hazarika’s name has been mingled in the cash for job scam.
Recently, a telephonic conversation of Dr Hazarika went viral in social media where she was asking money for job in NF Railway. It has been alleged that she has taken Rs 22 lakh from three persons for giving job in railway.
It has been alleged that she has taken money from one Amol Nath and two others for giving job in NR Railway.
Dr Hazarika has used her driver for collection of money.
“Dr Ajanta Hazarika’s driver stays in front of our house and one day he told us that he can help to get Railway job. He connected me to Dr Ajanta Hazarika and she told that she has contact with minister to help us to get railway job. She told us that for that process Rs 7 lakh will be needed. I have given Rs 3 lakh cash to her and another Rs 3 lakh was given through bank transaction,” said Amol Nath.
“She has taken Rs 22 lakh from us instead of giving job. When I asked her to return our money back, she threatened us with dire consequences and told that she was close to one Assam minister,” he said.
Dr Hazarika has returned some of the money which have been taken from the persons.
Dibrugarh superintendent of police Preteek Kumar Thube said, “On Sunday evening three of them have filed an FIR at Dibrugarh police station and we have registered a case. We will properly investigate the case.”
