DIPHU, May 27: Two more returnees tested positive for COVID-19 at Rukasen College quarantine facility at Sunpura in Bakalia taking the total number of positive patients to 11 in the twin hills on Wednesday.
One of the patients is Rajib Terang (24), who returned from Hyderabad on May 20 by train while the other Bala Baglary (21) returned from Chennai on May 19.
The swab samples of both the patients were taken on May 24 and tested on May 26.
Terang is a resident of Tarabasa Sunari Terang village while Baglary is a resident of Mridupathar.
They have been shifted to Diphu Medical College & Hospital (DMCH- Old Block) which has been converted into COVID-19 Hospital.
Altogether 111 returnees have been put under quarantine at Model Girls Hostel and Rukasen College in Bakalia as of Wednesday. The swabs of 67 persons have been taken from the returnees.
Meanwhile, the swab tests 61 returnees at Haflong quarantine facility have turned negative on Wednesday, Samuel Changsan, executive member (EM) for health and family welfare of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) informed here.
