HOJAI, Aug 5: “In Hojai District Police stations a total of 24 cases related to forgery in National Register of Citizens were registered out of which chargesheets against 91 people was filed, 19 cases were disposed and 5 cases are pending”, informed Superintendent of Police Ankur Jain, IPS while addressing a press conference recently at SP office in District Headquater Sankardev Nagar in Hojai.
Jain shared with media persons the details of various other cases of the running year 2018.
He gave data on NDPS cases. Total cases registered were 7 out of which 4 were disposed and 3 are pending. During the operation 1411 bottles of cough syrup, 248.169 Kya of suspected Ganja, 667 nos of capsules along with 4 nos of sealed packed boxes sampex plus capsules and 1078 nos of tablets along with 40 packets of drugs suspected to be Nitrosum 10 tablets.
In connection to arms related cases, he informed total cases registered were 9, out of which 9 are pending.
In connection with cases registered against misuse of social media regarding Dokmoka incident 1 case was filed which is pending and 1 person was arrested. Hojai District Police conducted various meetings to create social awareness and Hojai District Social Media Monitoring Cell is working actively.
In context to kidnapping cases, he said in four (4) very significant kidnapping cases four victims have been successfully recovered from PS Thullur (Andra Pradesh).
He also said list of 70 Village Defence Parties (VDPs) have been sent to APHQRs for registration. Three best VDPs will be awarded on August 15.
