GUWAHATI, Sept 19: Border Security Force Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) celebrated 26th BWWA Day with BWWA president Rashmi Aggarwal as the chief guest at Frontier HQ Patgaon on Tuesday.
The occasion was marked by organizing various competitions amongst the families and wards of BSF personnel residing at Patagaon campus like Mehendi competition, Hair style competition, Tying Saree competition, various type of folk dance competition etc.
Tanishq Jewelry of Guwahati presented an orientation program regarding various schemes launched by Tata Jewellery which was followed by colorful cultural programme and prize distribution. Such programs were also organized by all field formation under command of Guwahati Frontier.
During the celebration, BWWA President, Ftr HQ Guwahati, Aggarwal facilitated the widows of deceased BSF personnel. She also commended the role of the organization for ensuring various welfare activities in the BSF and said that BWWA Day is celebrated every year in the month of September. She also apprised that BWWA has undertaken the pivotal role for upliftment and welfare of the families of BSF personnel.
BWWA was established in 1992 with the aim to promote welfare of all BSF serving/ retired personnel and their families, rehabilitation of widows, provide vocational training to families for economic empowerment & undertake charitable mission on the need basis.
