GUWAHATI, Aug 5: Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 29 cattle worth approximately more than Rs 5.5 lakh from Tura in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills district on Friday night, an official release said here on Saturday.
The cattle were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. No arrest has been made so far in this connection.
In another incident, the BSF troops seized 24 cattle worth Rs. 4.9 lakh while being smuggled from India to Bangladesh at Nayabazar in East Khasi Hills district on Friday. All the seized cattle were handed over to local police for further legal action.
