DIPHU, May 5: As part of Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan, the Aajeevika & Kaushal Vikas Mela was organised at Lumbajong Development Block at Manja on Saturday. As many as 1,000 representatives of various women SHGs took part in the mela.
In the programme assistant director of handloom & textiles, junior inspector & auditor, Jaliram Engti informed about the schemes available for women in handloom department. National Health Mission (NHM), block programme manager of Manja PHC, Willingson Rongphar explained various health schemes available to women, children and adult. He also elaborated about schemes available to pregnant mothers and for new born babies.
The manager of Manja branch of Langpi Dihangi Rural Bank (LDRB), Himanta Dev spoke about loans provided by government through various banks at subsidised rates.
Earlier, Lumbajong VDC chairman Lawrence Ronghang and Dhansiri Rensing Teron explained about various schemes made available for the benefits of the people.
Lumbajong BDO and nodal officer Monjulota Ronghangpi chaired the meeting. On the occasion SHGs Chingrum of Borlangpher Cluster were declared the best, Turbong SHG of Rongkangthir cluster the second best and Kasmai SHG of Dhansiri Cluster as the third best SHG.
