KOKRAJHAR, Aug 14: All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), former Rajya Sabha MP UG Brahma, villagers of Auxiguri village in Chirang and family members of the slain militants have hailed the SC notice to the state government of Assam and centre over the cold blooded killing of two cadres of National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra faction (NDFB-S), identified as Lucas Narzary and David Islary in Chirang district last year and demanded proper investigation into the case.
The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to the government of Assam and centre to make proper investigation into the fake encounter case in Chirang district.
Rajnish Rai, a 1992-batch IPS officer of the Gujarat cadre and IG of CRPF for North east, said he conducted a “discreet” inquiry on his own chronicle on how a team of the Assam Police, the Army, the CRPF and its jungle warfare unit, CoBRA and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) conducted the encounter in the Simlaguri area of Chirang district on March 30, killing what they called were two insurgents of the banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Saoraigwra).
Rai in his revelation identified the victims as Lucas Nazary alias N. Langfa, and David Islary alias Dayud. He alleged that they were already in the custody of the security forces and the entire encounter was “very likely to be a case of premeditated custodial killing”.
Security forces killed the two cadres on March 30(2017), which was disclosed by then IG CRPF Rajnish Rai and planted arms on them. The cadres were arrested first and later killed showing fake encounter at Simlaguri area under Amguri PS in Chirang district.
