GUWAHATI, Sept 27: Railway Protection Force (RPF) of N.F. Railway successfully rescued as many as 17 children from railway premises like stations/trains during the week from September 17 to 23.
In one of such case on September 18, at about 10.45 hrs, RPF train escort party of train No.12505 Dn (N. E. Express) namely, Head Constable/Aftar Hussain, Constable/Lakshmi N. Singh, Constable / Paresh Baishya and Constable / Dipak Mahantal of RPF Post, Rangiya, while escorting the said train from Kamakhya to Rangiya station, rescued one minor girl with arrest of one kidnapper namely, Majibar Rahman, M-28 yrs. The arrested person is involved in Basistha PS case No. 1196/18 u/s 366(A) IPC dated 18.09.2018. Later on, the apprehended along with the rescued minor girl were handed over to IC/Jorabat (OP) for necessary action.
On September 20 at about 16.30 hrs, RPF Inspector/R. K. Yadav along with staff of Ledo (Outpost), arrested one male person at Ledo station namely, Hemanta Sarmah, 47 yrs with three girls, all from Tinsukia. The arrested person confessed that he was taking the girls to Delhi on the promise of giving them job. Later on, the arrested person along with the rescued girls was handed over to OC/Assam Police/Ledo (OP).
On September 22 at about 21.15 hrs, on duty RPF Constable/Chunu Hansda of RPF Post, Siliguri Jn, rescued three runaway minor girls all from Alipurduar, West Bengal, from PF No. 1 of Siliguri Junction station. Subsequently, the rescued minor girls were handed over to Centre Coordinator, Child Line/Hakimpara, Siliguri for safe custody.
