DALGAON, Dec 16: The All Assam Minorities Students Union (AAMSU) protested at Dalgaon demanding to stop eviction without rehabilitation. AAMSU workers in support of thousands of people from village areas stagnated NH-15 and Dalgaon Revenue Circle for hours. “We are Indian by birth. We have the right to enjoy food, clothing and shelter as per Article 21 of Indian Constitution. But the Himanta Biswa Sarma led Government is targeting a particular community to appease the fanatic Hindus. We will not tolerate more atrocity,” AAMSU GS Imtiaj said, adding, “We demand land patta, solution of ‘D’ voters, land right to every landless and rehabilitation before eviction.”
He warned that if the government continued its atrocities, 1.3 crore minorities across the state would come to the roads to fight for their rights. Meanwhile, AAMSU advisor Ainuddin Ahmed recalled the scenery of Garukhuti where people were bound to take shelter under the sky in bitterly cold weather. He urged the government to follow the rule of law in the state.
