Truck with 12 buffaloes seized at Kampur Lutumari

NAGAON, Dec 3: A police team from Kampur PS under special supervision of additional superintendent of police (Headquarters) Dhruba Bora rescued 12 buffaloes from a truck at Lutumari area on Friday morning and also arrested two occupants of the truck including the driver Jakir Hussain of Ghilani Kandapar under Kampur PS and Ahidur Rahman of Jaluguti under Mikirbheta PS in Morigaon district.

The police also seized Rs 24,500 in cash and one mobile phone from their possession, sources added.

Sources claimed that the buffaloes were being transported in the truck bearing registration number AS 01 3174 from Kolbari in Jorhat to unknown destination while the police team intercepted the truck at Lutumari and brought the breakthrough.

A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is on, sources added further.

Meanwhile, based on specific information, Kachuwa PS police led by ASP Dhruba Bora busted a gang of fake currency rackets at the house of one Saddam Hussain at Kachuwa Ramani pothar village in the wee hours on Friday.

Police immediately arrested Saddam Hussain on spot and also seized a self made machine used to print fake currencies notes of Rs 500, 752 numbers of Rs 500 fake notes, plain papers, 6 mobile phones, one stabiliser, battery with inverter, three pieces of fake gold and original Rs 43,940 in cash from the house, sources from police added.
