ASSU demands upliftment of Santhali education

Kokrajhar, June 23: The All Santhali Students Union (ASSU) demanded uplift and welfare to the Santhali education across the state to meet development for Santhali community. The students’ union offered warm felicitation to the successful students of HS & HSLC final examinations 2017-18 at a programme held at Amguri Don Bosco vocational training centre in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.

A total 100 students from remote areas of Kokrajhar district from Santhali community, who have successfully passed out in HS & HSLC final examinations in 2017-18, were felicitated.

The passed out students, included 39 HS and 6 HSLC students, who belonged to remote and poor family backgrounds of the district.

The programme was organised by All Santhali Students Union (ASSU) in association with district police administration, Kokrajhar. SP Rajen Singh graced as chief guest on the occasion and offered warm felicitation to the students with certificate, phulam gamocha and gift items.

Students expressed their happiness over the programme organised at Amguri. President of Adivasi seva samiti Boyal Hembrom, ASSU president Simon Kisku were prominent attendees on the occasion.
