ATTSA, ACMS protest non-payment of wages

DIBRUGARH, Nov 24: The Assam Tea Tribe Students’ Association (ATTSA) and The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) on Tuesday staged a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office against the management of Madarkhat tea estate here over non-payment of wages.

The members of the tea body holding placards and banners staged their protest in front of the Dibrugarh deputy commissioner’s office demanding the immediate release of wages.

Since the last two months, the workers of the tea garden are not getting their salary and as a result are having a tough time feeding their families. 1144 permanent workers and 41 employees are associated with the tea garden.
