Awareness camp on ‘man-elephant conflict’ held

Bamunjuli, June 23: Adhunik India Foundation has organised an awareness camp on the topic “How to Minimise Man Elephant Conflict” at Bamunjuli Community Hall, in Udalguri district. The meeting was chaired by retired Professfer of Khoirabari College and Sr. Journalist Hareswar Kalita. The meeting was attended by chief guest additional deputy commissioner of Udalguri district Dithakananda Hazarika, ACS and Incharge of S.D.O (Civil), A.C.F of Dhanisiri Forest Division Dibakar Das Udalguri, Inspector 37 Bn Mangaldoi BOP Samrang Arun Doley, Ranger of Nonai Range Satyaram Boro, Nonaikhas Gaonburah Gulap Behera, Nonaikhuti Gaonburah Dukuna Newar, social workers and a large number of local people.

The meeting was an opportunity for the people to interact with the government officials to sort out the problem. People too described the difficulties faced.

In the meeting, chief guest Dithakananda Hazarika said that to minimise man – elephant conflicts more such awareness meeting must be organised.
