DEMOW, Oct 12: Under the patronage of Brihattar Asomiya Yuva Mancha (BAYM), Demow Town Committee, a two-hour sit-in demonstration was staged in Demow Chariali on Monday demanding scrapping of the Assam Cow Protection Act 2021 and decreasing the price of essential commodities. The BAYM, Demow Regional Committee activists took placards and staged sit-in demonstrations and shouted various slogans against the BJP government. Later, the Brihattar Asomiya Yuva Mancha (BAYM) submitted a memorandum to Assam chief minister through a Demow circle officer on Monday. In the memorandum, BAYM, Demow Regional Committee activists stated that along with the rest of the country, the first and the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic had created panic to the people of Assam and except the government employees; the economic conditions of the general people were poor. Recently after the positivity rate decreased, the BJP government had introduced the Cow Protection Act 2021 and price rise of the essential commodities, which has been creating much impact in normal day-to-day life. The BJP government which came to power for the protection of ‘Jati Mati Bheti’ and the BJP government has failed to decrease the price rise of the essential commodities and also introduced the Cow Protection Act. The BAYM, Demow Regional Committee activists slammed the central minister Rameswar Teli and state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita. Jadumoni Kalita, president, Jaan Barua, secretary of BAYM, Demow Town Committee, Jadab Gogoi, senior BAYM leader along with the BAYM, Demow Town Committee leaders were also present.
