Bharat Yatra marches to Dhubri

Guwahati, Sept 25: The 35 day-long Bharat Yatra, led by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi reached Dhubri on Monday. They were welcomed by students and faculty at BN College in Dhubri.

Students expressed their concerns over the growing incidents of child trafficking in Assam. Some 30% of human trafficking cases in the country were reported from Assam. Dhubri district tops Assam in child labour and trafficking cases.

Earlier, the Yatra reached Bongaigaon on Sunday where they were hosted at the Bongaigaon College. The march was joined by over 200 youth pledging to spread awareness about the growing menace of trafficking and rape.

The Bharat Yatra launched on September 11 at Kanyakumari by Satyarthi is marching across the country to build unprecedented awareness on combating child sexual abuse and trafficking.
