DIMAPUR, Oct 10 (Newmai): BJP National General Secretary, Ram Madhav said that the BJP is committed to finding solution to the Naga political issue. He then expressed hope that a “solution will be found very soon”.
Ram Madhav said this while addressing a BJP meeting in Mokokchung, Nagaland on Tuesday.
Ram Madhav then said that the BJP has “taken strong roots all over Nagaland”. He then said that the party’s next target is to form its own government in the State.
Meanwhile, DR Shurhozelie Liezietsu, President of the the Naga People’s Front (NPF) has said that the party is “only short of 5 MLAs to reach the magic figure”.
The Nagaland Legislative Assembly is reduced to a 59-member House now after the demise of a sitting NDPP MLA recently.
Addressing the NPF Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting, DR Shurhozelie then said also that, “being a strong opposition in the assembly, the NPF had nothing to worry nor it was in a hurry to overthrow the government”.
Also speaking on the occasion, former Chief Minister TR said that, “Being the largest party, the NPF can stake claim constitutionally to form the government”.
Meanwhile, in a press release this evening, the NPF reminded the PDA government of Nagaland “once and for all that, the Naga people have given their mandate to the NPF during the last general election due to the fact that NPF alone has returned 26 MLAs in the house of 60, breaking an all time record to emerge as the strongest and the single largest political party in the state”.
The NPF once again reminded the Neiphiu Rio led Government to “refrain from being scared of their own shadows and do away with the constant nagging feelings of insecurities which is leading them nowhere, but to concentrate more on the core issues in the state and further tightened their seat belt, get back to work and deliver what had been promised to the people of Nagaland at the onset of PDA government”.
