IMPHAL, April 4 (Newmai): BJP and Congress are the two sides of same coin when it comes to corruption and economic policies, according to CPI, Manipur unit.
“Congress and BJP belong to same family which have same ideology. They are two sides of the same coin. They did nothing good for the state as well as for the nation,” CPI Manipur State Council secretary, Laishram Sotinkumar alleged.
Addressing a press conference at CPI office at Imphal Irawat Bhavan on Thursday, Laishram said that corruption is the “core value” of both the parties’ ideology and their objectives are strengthening the capitalist society. He also alleged that BJP’s Hindutva is in total contrast with the people who wish to protect and preserve their identity, culture, language, heritage and rights. “Giving vote to BJP is akin to endorsing to their political agenda of making India, a Hindu nation”, he said. “People across the country have now lost trust on both the Congress and BJP as they always cheat the people. The two parties have been suppressing the rights of the people for such a long time”, the CPI leader further alleged.
He then said that the two parties will do no good for the state and the nation in future too. “Now, time has come to teach a lesson to both the parties”, the CPI leader also said.
He also said that people have bad experiences with both the Congress and BJP all these years. “Nothing change has been brought about except making false promises”, he said.
CPI is fielding its former minister, Dr Moirangthem Nara Singh as party nominee in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency but the party fielded no candidate in the Outer Manipur (ST) Parliamentary constituency.
“CPI fielded its candidate for a change in Manipur, the CPI leader who has a strong confidence of the party taking a major role in the formation of next government at the Centre after the elections”, Sotinkumar said.
According to him, the party is focusing on border pillar issue, state integrity and other issues, the CPI leader said.
