KOKRAJHAR, June 24: The 28th round peace talk on Bodoland statehood issue will be held between central government’s peace talk interlocutor AB Mathur and National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) in New Delhi on Monday. Extending wishes for a fruitful peace talks, a torch light cum prayer rally was organised in Kokrajhar on Sunday evening.
The movement groups, apart from All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Peoples Joint Action Committee for Boroland Movement (PJACBM) and National Democratic Front of Boroland (Progressive) have wished and demanded fruitful peace talk over the Bodoland statehood issue through political dialogue in immediate.
On Monday, the NDFB-P will be participating in the peace talks with the government marking 28th round peace talk. The peace talk has been scheduled to be held in New Delhi in which both factions from NDFB-P and Ranjan Daimary faction of NDFB are participating. However, peace interlocutor Mathur is participating in the peace talk for the first time ever with NDFB organisation since his appointment as peace interlocutor from government of India. NDFB leaders both from NDFB-P and Ranjan Daimary faction of NDFB, apart from Gavinda Basumatary, Dhiren Boro, Ranjan Daimary have arrived in New Delhi on Sunday to participate in the scheduled peace talk.
Hundreds of activists, well wishers from ABSU, NDFB-P and PJACBM joined hands with banner, placards in the torch light cum prayer rally carried out in Kokrajhar wished for a fruitful peace talk.
The rally was organised jointly by ABSU, NDFB-P and PJACBM, which started from Assam Oil depot via JD Road and concluded in front of BTC Secretariat ground. The rally demanded early solution of the Bodoland statehood issue through political dialogue without any delay.
Convenor of the PJACBM Gorjon Moshahary and ABSU leader Kastom Basumatary while extending greetings to the scheduled peace talk hoped that the peace talk would be a fruitful one while bringing solution to the Bodoland statehood issue.
