GUWAHATI, Dec 20: To commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh liberation war of 1971, India’s victory over Pakistan and the incomparable contribution of BSF in the victory, on Dec 3, 2021, the Swarn Jayanti Shaurya Pradarshani Yatra having mobile photo/video gallery on six vehicles was flagged off from BSF South Bengal Frontier Kolkata by YB Khurania, IPS, ADG (EC) in presence of Toufique Hasan, Bangladesh deputy High Commissioner at Kolkata. The main motto of this Yatra is to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in youths and also to spread awareness about the contribution of BSF & Mukti Bahini in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War.

The Yatra reached Guwahati on Monday after paving its way through bordering districts of Kolkata, Nadia, Murshidabad, Malda, South Dinajpur, Kishanganj, Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar and Dhubri all along the Indo-BD international border.

On Monday, Swarnjayanti Shaurya Pradarshani Yatra reached the Lachit Borphukan Memorial, Machkhowa, where it was welcomed by Sanjay Singh Gehlot, IG, Frontier HQ BSF Guwahati. During the programme documentaries, videos, photographs related to Bangladesh Liberation War 1971 highlighting the role of BSF and Mukti Bahini in Bangladesh liberation were screened. Moreover, BSF Brass Band and Jazz Band also performed patriotic music and songs enchanting the audience with full of patriotic fervour and mesmerized the audience. The surrounding areas of Machkhowa were filled with reverberation of drum beats, trumpets as the bands gave a symphonic display of martial music.

Large numbers of youths and civil public witnessed the programme and highly appreciated the role of BSF & Mukti Bahini in the Liberation War of 1971 and also thanked the BSF for ensuring security of the nation.
