Kokrajhar, Sept 26: The special session of BTC Legislative Assembly concluded on Tuesday with passage of the Bodoland Territorial Council Education (Provincialisation of Services of Teachers and Re-organisation of Educational Institutions) Bill, 2017 for provincialisation of venture educational institutions, recognised by the state government till January 1, 2006,
The session was chaired by speaker Tridip Daimary. The Bill was deferred to the special session due to amendment demanded from Opposition members on August 30 last. Members of both ruling and ppposition parties took party in the debate on the bill forcing the Speaker to adjourn the house for 15-minutes till 11.15 am. The house resumed by 11.30 am and passed the bill moved by deputy chief and incharge of education department, Kampa Borgoyary with 2016 as cut-off yearfor provincialisation of educational institutions. Nearly 21 degree colleges, 24 junior colleges and 1300 schools are to be provincialised after the bill passed in the house.
