KOKRAJHAR, Jan 27: BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary hoisted the national tricolour flag at Govt HS & MP School parade ground in the presence of huge gathering on the occasion of 69th Republic Day celebration on Friday in Kokrajhar.
The day was organised by Kokrajhar district administration, two subdivisions Parbatjhora and Gossaigaon have also celebrated the Republic Day with befitting manner on the day. Mohilary offered floral tribute to the national martyrs at Swahid Bedi at Kokrajhar town along the RNB Road followed inspection of parade contingents.
Altogether 28 parade continents, including three Assam Police in uniform and student’s parade troupe from different school, colleges of the district participated. Mohilary received guard of honour presented from parade contingents.
A multi cultural demonstration was also demonstrated from different communities which created amusement among viewers on the day.
Persons, who are in successful in various fields like education, sports, literary were also felicitated on the Republic Day celebration.
In his speech, Mohilary remembered national heroes who sacrificed their lives for the cause of country uplift. He has urged all sections of communities to be unite for paving the way peace,prosperous as well development in the region.
