BAJALI, March 30: State BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass said that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will give opportunity to the people belonging to Rabha, Garo and Koch communities residing in Bangladesh to be citizens of the country.
Taking to the media person at Patacharkuchi Press Club Dass said that Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will have no impact in the election and it will increase the votes of the party.
Dass who will be contesting the upcoming assembly election from Patacharkuchi constituency on Tuesday said he wants to upgrade the constituency into a prestigious one like Jalukbari, Majuli, Tezpur and others in coming days if voted to power in the upcoming polls.
Das said the constituency has been lagging behind in development over the years.
Dass exuded confidence that he will be able to win the constituency in the ensuing election.
He said that he would not like to promise people of the constituency for specific works but he will have to interact with people of the constituency and after discussion the scope of development will be surveyed and practically implement the developmental work if voted to power.
Dass who has been attending around 20 meetings per day in various parts was welcomed by the people of the constituency and around five thousand Congress men and other party workers have already joined the party newly and joining programme is still continuing.
He also alleged that the previous MLA failed to develop the constituency and condition of major roads was still in deplorable state.
He also expressed his willingness to lead the constituency like a common people of the constituency without brand of political parties.
Talking on the 6th Schedule he said that the govt. will complete the delimitation of the constituency for the greater interest of the implementation of the 6th Schedule practically.
