IMPHAL, Aug 10 (Newmai): Campaigns for the “collective decision” to be taken in a special assembly session in connection with the Framework Agreement of the Government of India and the NSCN-IM continues unabated in Imphal.
Under the aegis of the United Committee, Manipur (UCM), a group of women folks submitted memorandums to former chief minister, O Ibobi and to former deputy chief minister, Gaikhangam demanding a “collective decision” in a special assembly session that the ‘Framework Agreement’ finalisation will not affect Manipur in any way.
The women folks numbering about 60 people came to the heavily guarded Babupara area in Imphal to submit the memorandums to Ibobi and Gaikhangam but the police halted them from entering the quarters of the two opposition leaders. However, after sometimes, few selected representatives of the women activists were allowed to submit the memorandums to O Ibobi and Gaikhangam.
It may be mentioned that women folks under the banner of the United Committee, Manipur had submitted memorandums to political leaders and national political party leaders including Members of Parliament (MPs) on the issue.
