GOLAGHAT, Oct 22: An Assam youth saved five people after a car, where they were travelling, fell into a river at Numaligarh area in Assam’s Golaghat district on Sunday night.
According to reports, a Nissan Micra car, bearing registration number AS-02-T-1549 travelled from Titabor in Jorhat district to Tezpur met with an accident on National Highway 37 and fell into a river.
When the car fell into a river, a local youth named Nazrul Ahmed had immediately rushed to the spot and jumped into the river.
The youth safely rescued all five passengers including a woman from the car.
Later, police had managed to pull out the car from the river.
“The car met with an accident and fell into a river. Following the incident a local youth had safely rescued all five passengers from the car. We sent the injured people to Bokakhat hospital,” a police official said.
