Dimapur, Nov 12: Two days after Dimapur Commissionerate Special Branch unearthed a fake Aadhaar generation racket in Dimapur, the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) demanded that the Aadhaar cards seized from illegal racket centres should be annulled and invalidated, and all other Aadhaar cards made before in Nagaland should also be thoroughly examined.
Lauding the Dimapur Commissionerate Special Branch for unearthing fake Aadhaar generation racket, the CNTC, in a release, has asked the State Government whether the thousands of fresh applicants for Aadhaar cards made by using fictitious documents that had been issued mostly to suspected illegal immigrants from the neighbouring state of Assam will be legalised or nullified.
“We would want to see the chief minister and the home minister does their part as the police have been doing their part with the best of their ability. Coordinated efforts should come from all sections as both of them had said accordingly. Both the chief minister and the home minister should also coordinate with their counterparts of Assam otherwise lakhs of illegal immigrants will be legalised and claim to be a citizen of India from these fake Aadhaars made in Nagaland state,” it stated.
The CNTC also appealed to all colony GBs, chairmen and respective councils to be vigilant and watchful of these activities in their localities and inform the police to take punitive action on these miscreants involved in such illegal activities.
