ITANAGAR, July 13: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has demanded to justice to the seven-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by a 45-year-old man at Ngopok village under Mebo Sub-Division in East Siang district.

In a statement, the APCC came down on the BJP-led state government for its failure to control crime against minor and women saying “it is not serious on these matters and also not working for the interest of people of the State.”

During the tenure of the Pema Khandu government neither victims were compensated nor criminals were punished, the APCC statement said, adding that the state government was shielding the culprits and rejoicing over the misery of people.
