Differently abled Army veterans get support at Narengi

GUWAHATI, March 21: A veterans outreach and  interaction event was held at Narangi Military Station in Guwahati March 21 as a run up to commemorate the 50 years of 1971 war victory over Pakistan ‘Swarnim  Vijay Varsh’.

A series of events have been planned across the nation to celebrate this historic occasion. The event at Narangi was attended by 70 Veterans, families of especially abled veterans and civil dignitaries. Many senior veterans were present on the occasion including lieutenant general P K Bharali, VSM (Retd), chairman All Assam ESM Association.

Major General Vikas Saini, SM, VSM, general officer commanding 51 Sub Area lauded the contribution and efforts of our veterans towards the society and also during the war 1971.

The general officer commanding also felicitated two especially abled veterans and presented them with a wheel chair and modified auto scooter each. The event concluded with a grand Barakhana organized for all.
