Dima Hasao to flaunt pink polling stations

Haflong, March 29: Dima Hasao district which is going to polls during the second phase of the election on April 1 next, will have 4 pink polling stations in-order to attract more female voters during the upcoming state assembly election.

Dima Hasao is all set to have 10 numbers of all women polling stations during the upcoming Assam assembly election, where the officials engaged on the polling day including police and security personnel will all be women. Out of the ten, four polling stations have been themed as pink polling stations to be decorated in pink colour to attract women voters. As per the order, the selected pink polling stations are NK Daolagupu LP School, Haflong Cultural Institute Hall, Sainza Razee LP School and Government Girls HS School.

Besides, the six all women polling stations include CHT Synod High School, Haflong Fiangpui High School, superintendent of sericulture office, Haflong Town Raji Community Hall, Haflong Government College and district social welfare office. Additionally, three polling stations including Maibang Kalibari LP School, Haflong Town Raji Community Hall and AEN Office have been set as model polling stations with an objective of attracting voters to come out and cast their votes. The model polling stations have the facility of wheelchair for the convenience of differently-abled, senior citizens and needy people.
