Dibrugarh, Nov 30: Two persons were found murdered at their house in Mulukabasa area in Dibrugarh on Tuesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Sudhir Gogoi and Kajal Bhumij.
Sources said that a few days ago Kajal Bhumij and her husband Rajiv Sukran came to Sudhir Gogoi’s rented house.
“Sunday night a quarrel took place between Sudhir Gogoi and Rajiv Sukran. After a heated argument Rajiv killed Sudhir Gogoi with a sharp weapon. Kajal had seen the murder and to hide the murder, Rajiv killed his wife and fled from the house,” said a police source.
Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra said, “We have found two dead bodies inside the two separate rooms. We have found injuries in both the dead bodies and suspected that both were murdered. We are investigating the matter.”
Both the dead bodies were sent for post mortem at AMCH.
“On Sunday we last saw Sudhir Gogoi after he came back from his shop. Yesterday, his room was locked from outside and we thought that he went to our relative’s house. Today, morning we recovered his dead body from his room and another dead body of a woman was recovered from his rented house,” said a relative of Sudhir Gogoi.
