KOKRAJHAR, Sept 14: The Employment Review Committee (ERC) of Assam legislative assembly took stock and sought reports in details about prevailing vacancies of posts in different line departments of government in district level offices across the Kokrajhar district. A six member delegation of the Employment Review Committee of Assam legislative assembly made a visit to Kokrajhar on Monday to review the employment generation scene across the area. The team was led by its chairman Lawrence Islary and members comprised Rupak Sarma, Jayanta Basumatary, Prithiraj Rabha, Suren Phukan and Sibhu Mishra.
The team had a review meeting at DC office Kokrajhar where officials from several departments like education, tourism, skill development and employment participated and discussed prevailing vacancies in the line departments in the districts. The team took stock of the prevailing employment opportunities capacities in all line departments.
The MLA team has opined that the local youths must be given top priority on engagement in all government vacancies lying in the line departments and the team made necessary arrangements for the same.
Chairman of the MLA team Lawrence Islary, Prithviraj Rabha, MLA said that they have sought a detailed report over the prevailing vacancies in all line departments and urged for priority to be given to local people.
Deputy commissioner Kokrajhar Varnali Deka said that the MLA delegation team took stock of the prevailing employment vacancies in the district and the meeting was a fruitful one.
