Ering calls on youths to instill sense of nationalism

PASIGHAT, Aug 16: East-Arunachal MP Ninong Ering has appealed the youths to instill a sense of nationalism and work dedicated for nation building. He also appealed the citizens to work for development shedding political differences and discrimination on sex, cast, creed and religion.

Unfurling the national tricolour on account of 72nd Independence Day at Bilat in East Siang district, Ering said the country is fast growing on digital technology which was a dream of former Congress Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Stating that Central government is taking up a lot of flagship scheme to boost living standard of the country men, the MP urged the local people to take benefit of the welfare schemes.

Ering claimed that he has been raising various problems faced by the Arunachali people on the ground of parliament, said that he moved the centre to boost mobile phone connectivity in the hill state and also attracted central government’s attention over Chinese bully over Arunachal Territory and misuse the water resources of Siang (Tsangpho) river. He further move the centre to enhance fund provision from Rs 100 crore to Rs 160 crore for development of Smart city at Pasighat and informed that about Rs 20 crore central fund has been released against it as first instalment.

While evaluating on the nationwide sanitation campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) initiated by Central government, MP Ering hoped that the efforts would promote healthy living of both urban and rural people. He announced to grant Rs 3 lakh to each educational institution fall in Pasighat West area for construction of sanitary toilets.

MP Ering also took the guard of honour by NCC contingents and troops of school children on the occasion and witnessed march-past and other cultural presentation on the occasion.

On the other hand, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) celebrated 72nd Independence Day at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in Itanagar on Wednesday.

Unfurling the national tricolor, APCC president Takam Sanjay recalled the great contributions of the freedom fighters, who had laid down their lives for the sake of country’s freedom. He also remembered role of Congress party leaders during freedom movement, who made supreme sacrifices to keep unity and integrity of the country intact.

He also said that Congress party took the nation into 21st century, placed it on the global pedestal and made modern India after having Independence.
