NAGAON, March 31: Female voter turnout was comparatively higher than male in the constituencies of Nagaon election district that went to polls in the first phase on March 27.
Significantly, it was found that the turnout among female was comparatively higher than the male in almost all those four constituencies under Nagaon election district.
As per official statistics, 90.38% female and 89.24% male in Dhing LAC, 90.24% female and 87.75% male in Rupahihat LAC, 85.24% female and 83.46% male in Batadroba LAC and 86.31% female and 84.51% male voters exercised their franchise this time to elect their respective public representatives.
Nagaon witnessed 87.12 % of voter turnout in the first phase of the assembly elections with highest turnout of 89.79% in Dhing LAC.
Rupahihat LAC witnessed the second highest turnout with 88.98%.
On the other hand, the voting turnout in Batadroba and Samaguri LACs were 84.33% and 85.38% respectively in the first phase election in the district.
