KOKRAJHAR, Dec 4: The former members of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) were rehabilitated by the government by distributing cheques as per the spirit clauses of the BTR accord which was regarded as the third Bodo peace accord signed on January 27, 2020.
According to sources, a sum of Rs 110.96 crore have so far been sanctioned by the state government for the rehabilitation package distribution among the former NDFB members.
A two-day ceremonially cheque distribution programme of rehabilitation for former NDFB members has been arranged at Tamulpur and Kokrajhar on December 5 and 6 respectively.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will be attending the programme as the chief guest.
Addressing mediapersons at a press conference held at BTC Secretariat on Saturday, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) executive member and BTR government spokesperson, Wilson Hasda said that the clauses of the BTR accord are getting implemented one by one as per the spirit of the historic BTR accord clauses.
“We (BTR government) are implementing all clauses of the BTR accord as per the spirit with the right direction and accordingly distributing rehabilitation cheques among the former NDFB members,” he said.
He further said that the BTR administration has been emphasising on creating a healthy environment on education, health, skill development for earning livelihood and social security among the citizens by providing equal opportunities for all.
Hasda said that the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government will be completing its first anniversary of government in BTR on December 15 and the alliance has further rendered dedication towards the welfare and development of the society.
He said that the BTR government has been trying to prevail in the public friendly environment in the region by rendering relentless services among all sections of the society.
Hasda has denied the allegations levelled by BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary and his party members against the BTR government, and said that the opposition has been trying to create a chaotic environment by making unsuited remarks on the UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in BTR.
He said that the present BTR government is working towards the uplift and development of all among the society with a positive dedication.
“There are no reports of percentage taking in the name of public development welfare. We are here to give equal opportunities to everyone in the society. We are maintaining peace and harmony among all the factions of the society,” Hasda said.
He said that the BTR government led by Pramod Boro is going in the right direction while leading a healthy environment with integrity and tranquility in the region.
“With the inception of UPPL-BJP-GSP alliance government in the BTR administration, all sections of communities are getting healthy integration,” he said.
