GOSSAIGAON, March 22: Following the notification of the Election Commission of India about the forthcoming polls to be held on April 6 in the third phase, a meeting with the representatives of the political parties was held at the conference hall of SDO-Civil office, Gossaigaon on Monday. The meeting was chaired by SDO-Civil-cum-district election officer, Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, to conduct the entire election procedure in a hustle-free manner. As per official reports, the voters list has already been published successfully and the grievances of the voters were taken up by the election officer without hindrances.
While technical aspects of EVM checking have already materialized, the material cell, control room, IT Cell and the database of the employees who would be engaged in the election process have been prepared and kept confidentially to train them for the forthcoming polls. DEO, Sarkar, lucidly explained the various articles, clauses and parts of the electioneering guidelines, which are to be strictly maintained by all the candidates. She also briefed about the Model Code of Conduct guidelines to each and every political party member who attended the meeting.
Adesh Titarmare, IAS, general observer of 28 Gossaigaon LAC, while addressing the political parties made a fervent appeal to various political parties to extend full cooperation for smooth conduct of the forthcoming polls.
