NAGAON, June 23: State water resource minister and the guardian minister of the district, Pijush Hazarika on Wednesday visited various Covid vaccination centres temporarily set up at various places under Nagaon Sadar, Raha, Samaguri revenue circles in the district and inspected the entire proceedings of mass vaccination drive initiated in larger scale by district administration throughout the district.
During his visit, the minister also interacted with the medical staff and engaged in vaccination programme with those who queued for vaccination at vaccination centres.
Interacting with the local media persons here, the minister ensured that there was no possibility of complete lockdown in Nagaon district at this stage however, government is considering lockdown on zone basis rather than complete lockdown in the entire district. Hazarika added that the government would be left with no other options other than inducing lockdown if people fail to adhere to Covid related protocols. During his inspection, the minister was accompanied by BJP MLAs – Rupak Sarma, Jitu Goswami, deputy commissioner Kavitha Padmanabhan, superintendent of police, Anand Mishra and other officials from Nagaon district administration.
