Human Rights Day Observed in Hojai, Assam

HOJAI, Dec 10: The department of Political Science, Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology, Hojai organised an awareness programme on human rights at Rajabari Archaeological Site, Hojai. The department conducted an awareness campaign on human rights among the students of Rajbari LP School and the local people. As part of the programme, a talk series was initiated on ‘Right to Education’, ‘Right to Health’, ‘Right to Food’, ‘Women Rights’, ‘Minority Rights’ and ‘Access to Justice for All’ by the HOD Sajida Begum, assistant professors Tahera Rahman and Baser Ali Ahmed along with the students of Maryam Ajmal Women’s College of Science and Technology and the teachers and students of Rajbari LP School. Some students from the department of political science performed a series of activities related to human rights like drama on domestic violence, Child labour, early marriage, dowry system, etc. Students also performed a group song to create unity and integrity among the group. Dance was also performed on different topics related to human rights. They also delivered a speech on various provisions of universal declaration of human rights and the provision of Indian Constitution by which it’s protected and guaranteed.
