Innocent should not be harassed: ULFA-I

GUWAHATI, June 12: While condemning the lynching of two Guwahati youth in Karbi Anglong, United Liberation Front of Asom –Independent (ULFA-I) on Tuesday said the innocent people should not be harassed in connection with the incident.

“We want justice into the incident. The culprits should be brought to book,” the ULFA-I said and added that it is a good sign that the state has witnessed widespread against the killing of the two incident.

“However, it has been noticed that a section of people started threatening the Karbi students and youth in the name of the protest against the lynching incident. Nilotpal and Abhijeet were killed by miscreants and not by Karbi people. The entire Karbi society is not responsible for the incident,” the outfit said.

“Such incidents will create mistrust and disbelief among the ethnic groups,” it also said and added that the people should cooperate with the administration to nab the culprits.

The ULFA-I also asked all the nationalist organisations to keep strict vigil so that innocent people will not be victimised of the situation.
