DIPHU, Sept 5: Karbi Anglong Karate Do Association (KAKDA) observed Teacher’s Day in Diphu along with the rest of the nation on Tuesday. The day was celebrated at Kharsing Terang Memorial Park which was attended by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) EM for irrigation and water resources Amar Sing Tisso as chief guest.
On the occasion EM Tisso said that Karate is a vigorous sport and parents should sent their children to karate classes for keeping them healthy. The north east is being increasingly afflicted with diabetes, the sport can help in keeping away from it. Participation in Karate is a healthy option for children then being glued to gadgets like smart phones and television.
On the occasion National Referee Award was also distributed by EM Tisso.
Karate Do Association founder president Ratan Engti, ex Diphu Town Committee chairman Daniel Engti, karate instructor Purno Timung and others were present on the occasion.
