DIPHU, Nov 8: After the debacle of the party in the last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress has appointed senior party leader and former HAD minister Khorsing Engti as the president of Karbi Anglong District Congress Committee (KADCC) on Thursday.
In a formal order on Thursday, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary KC Venugopal approved the proposal of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) for appointment of Engti. In the same order, former executive member (EM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Ashok Teron was appointed as working president of KADCC.
Workers of the party congratulated Engti with many leaders and workers visiting his residence at Howraghat on Friday. Lumbajong Mandal Congress Committee president Rangsina Hanse, KADYCC president Sukursing Kro, KADYCC, Harmon Engti and Howraghat AYC president Jirhan Hanse were among the leaders who felicitated the new president on Friday.
