KOKRAJHAR, Nov 24: Health and Family Welfare department minister Keshab Mahanta visited the construction site of Kokrajhar Medical College (KMC) at Beswargaon on Wednesday in Kokrajhar.
Mahanta was accompanied by MLAs Lawrence Islary and Jiron Basumatary during his visit at the construction site of the medical college.
He inspected all corners of the construction site and took stock of the ongoing construction site of the medical college.
The college has been under construction and is expected to be completed by September, 2022 as planned by the state government.
As per reports, till date 52 % percentage of construction works has been done and the remaining construction work would be completed within a year.
Minister Mahanta also had a review meeting with officials from the Health department including BTC secretary at BTC Secretariat in the evening. He said that he reviewed all Health and Family Welfare department related scheme’s implementation works in the Bodoland region.
Mahanta said that the construction of the Kokrajhar Medical College would be completed within one year and academics will be starting just after the completion of the construction. He said that he has reviewed all construction related activities in the medical college site and is hopeful that the medical college will be rendering services in the health sector.
