KOKRAJHAR, March 31: People from the Bodo community remembered contribution and dedication of Bodofa Upendranath Brahma on his 65th birth anniversary observed today at Thulungapuri Dotma Samadhi in Kokrajhar.
The anniversary was observed as ‘Student Day’ which was organized by ABSU central committee in association with Kokrajhar district unit of ABSU.
ABSU president Dipen Boro hoisted the Union flag followed by rich floral tribute to Bodofa Upendranath Brahma on his tomb and samadhisthal.
BTR CEM Pramod Boro and several leaders were present and offered floral tributes to the Bodofa.
ABSU president Dipen Boro said that Bodofa Upendranath Brahma sacrificed his whole life for the welfare and upliftment of the down trodden communities including Bodo in the state of Assam.
He said that the students union has been observing the birth anniversary of Bodofa as Student Day every year on March 31 to keep alive the ideology and philosophy of Bodofa among the society.
BTR CEM Pramod Boro has announced that the March 31, the birth anniversary of ABSU former president Bodofa Upendranath Brahma as Students Day from BTR administration.
He urged the student community to study hard and dedicatedly to achieve healthy and prosperous life.
Meanwhile, Union agricultural minister Narendra Singh Tomar paid rich homage to Bodofa Upendranath Brahma at his Thulungapuri Dotma Samadhi in Kokrajhar on the occasion.
Tomar who is now camping in Kokrajhar for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election campaign scheduled on April 1 at Green Field Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
Tomar has been monitoring about the preparation and arrangements of the PM Modi’s visit in Kokrajhar. Over two lakh people cutting across the society are expected to participate in the grand election campaign on Thursday.
He said that today he was lucky enough to offer rich floral tributes to the great Bodo leader.
