KSUP appeals Barhampur voters to oppose BJP

NAGAON, March 29: Krishak Sramik Unnayan Parishad (KSUP), a state level farmers’ organization appealed to the voters of Barhampur constituency to not vote in favour of BJP candidate Jitu Goswami.

They claimed that Goswami, like all the other leaders of BJP will sell the constituency if elected. Addressing a press conference at Barhampur on Monday, Mukul Bora, state president of the peasants’ organization, alleged that Goswami already has various charges of forgery levelled against him apart from a slew of CBI cases registered in various stations outside the state. He even displayed all the documents and testimonials in support of the allegations during the press conference.

“Goswami is a declared criminal by CBI and has been absconding since after taking a loan of Rs16 crore from Punjab National Bank. For the same, the bank concerned had to publish a public notice against him in newspapers on June 6, 2019. Besides, following the investigation into a case registered against Goswami vide case no 322/17 in Sihanigate police station in Uttar Pradesh, the police has declared him absconding,” the president of the peasant’s body added. He further informed that since his defeat in Samaguri LAC in the last assembly election, Goswami has been allegedly involved in various irregularities as well as anomalies in various schemes implemented under the gram panchayat in Samaguri.
