GUWAHATI, March 20: Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara gets Atal Tinkering Labs. A grand inauguration programme was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya Khanapara on Monday. The welcome address was presented by K.V.Khanapara Principal Dr Sanjay Kumar. He emphasised on how the Atal Tinkering Labs not only have a proper set of equipment to facilitate experimentation but will also provide peaceful ambiance. He felt that the company of peers with likely interests would further speed up learning process and inviting more attention.
This is followed by an insight into the benefits and modus operandi of Atal Tinkering Lab by Debangshu Deb PGT ( physics) of the Vidyalaya. He also differentiated between Science taught in a cubicle classroom and in the way of designed thinking as done in ATL. The Guest of honour Varun Mitra then blessed the children with an inspiring speech. He emphasised on generation of employment through this approach. This was followed by the blessing from the chief guest Sri KK Choudhury who through very interesting stories talked about the meaning of innovation and the role of designed thinking. Students have demonstrated some interesting and innovative projects and interacted with the dignitaries.
The dignitaries who were present in the auspicious occasion were C.B.S.E regional director K.K Choudhury, KVS Guwahati region deputy commissioner Varun Mitra, KVS Guwahati region assistant commissioners Deepak Dabral, Venkateshwara Prasad, SCERT joint director Jayanta Sharma, Regional Science Centre coordinator Basudev Mandal.
