Kokrajhar, Sept 22: A nine-day Laghu Aadi Mahotsav(traditionally produced exhibition) has begun from Saturday at Swrkhi crafts & cafe complex near Ganga cinema hall along the JD road in Kokrajhar.
Bodo cine actor Fuji Basumatary cut the ribbon to inaugurate the mahotsav amaong large number of visitors, organisers from different places of the region.
Over thirty stalls from different states of the northeastern states, apart from Sikkim, Shillong and several stalls from the state have participated in the mahotsav which is an exhibition mart for local produce by skilled artisans. The mahotsav was organised by tribal cooperative marketing development federation of India Limited (TRIFED) under ministry of Tribal affairs, Government of India. The mahotsav will continue till September 30 providing an opportunity to sell locally produced products of clothes and other needy materials.
The TRIFED is a national level apex organisation under direct control of ministry of Tribal affairs, Government of India engaged for sourcing and marketing of tribal handicrafts & handloom items through its retail outlets located all over the country as well as through holding exhibitions in all over India so that large market could be provided to the tribal people of the country.
The mahotsav saw huge number of visitors in the opening day.
